StudyPerth invites you to ourCelebration of Culture and Diversity workshop which will be presented by Auspire.
Australia is one of the most successful multicultural countries in the world and we should celebrate this and work to maintain it. Almost half of all Australians were born overseas or have at least on parent who was. We have more than 70 Indigenous languages spoken in Australia and identify with over 300 ancestries. Our cultural diversity makes us who we are.
At this event, guests will unite to share and learn about differing cultures, network and discover some crucial aspects of working life in Australia. This workshop is a must-do for anyone currently working or looking to work in Perth. It is also a chance to learn about the benefits of a diverse workplace. The workshop will cover:

Facilitator | Rika Asoaka
Rika Asoaka is an experienced training facilitator who is passionate about assisting people and organisations to attain and improve intercultural competency. Having lived and worked in Japan, Australia and Malaysia and with over 25 years of experience in roles including Japanese Language Trainer, Interpreter, Consultant and Senior Marketing Manager, Rika has acquired an in-depth knowledge and experience in working across different cultures.Rika is a certified licensee of Intercultural Readiness Check (IRC), a powerful internationally recognised tool for improving intercultural effectiveness.Over the years, she has worked with a number of multi-nationals across a wide range of sectors including motor, steel, manufacturing, trading, and service industries and she strongly believes in a practical training approach when building capacity for cultural awareness.
Her belief is that intercultural competency ensures a competitive edge for business and her wish is to assist West Australian companies and their employees gain knowledge and understanding of how to deal with inter-cultural complexities so they can be more effective and achieve business success.
Facilitator | Marina Cappola Del Borrello
Marina has a Communication and Cultural Studies background with a double major in Performance Studies and Literary Cultural Studies from Curtin University, and an Associate Diploma in Applied Science. She also has a TESOL qualification.
As a bilingual speaker and a TESOL instructor she fully understands the challenges that people who speak English as a second language face in intercultural environments.
Marina has participated in Italian community theatre for 6 years, university productions and other northern suburb theatre groups and has attained experience in performance and vocal training techniques.
She brings her expertise of performing arts and second language acquisition into her intercultural training application.
